Happy Birthday to me!

I gave myself a little belated birthday treat today at Carolina Skydiving in Jonesville, NC. It was an absolutely incredible experience and the group that works there is fantastic. Thanks to everyone for the birthday money - you helped pay for this and my next jumps!

  • I’m glad you liked it. This is one of the few ways we’re different. I found my jumps simply dull. But your jump looked fantastic. Enjoy the next jump (maybe solo?) and the ones after that. And get your scuba diving lesson so you can really feel like your flying

PS - your birthday was THURSDAY not Wednesday

  • Too cool bro! Happy birthday!!!

It’s getting harder to defend you when you have men on your back and you smile so big!! But I love you anyway!!! I guess our white water rafting trip pales now in comparison!

  • Wow….thats something I always wanted to do but didn’t have the courage to carry through. Congratulations. The closest I came was flying in an open cockpit plane in Austraia that did barrel rolls, death spirals and loops. What a trip.

    Love,

  • AL, you actually have to do 2 tandem and then 8 or 9 more jumps before you can go solo. I don’t know if it’s a U.S. rule or just the location. And, yes, I did say the wrong day of the week.

The woman who jumped before me was 60 and conquering her fear of heights. Anyone that gets the chance should definitely do this!

  • I jumped solo after about 3 hours of instruction in Perth. I suspect it is a US thing about jumping tandem. Maybe not a law but probably an insurance thing because you Yanks are so litiguous. Though the chute I was using had an altimeter and the spare would blow if you were falling too fast at … some number of metres(you can’t expect me to remember such details). I don’t see how I could have messed up even if I had just fallen out of the plane with absolutely no instruction. And for the record, I landed on my feet on both jumps (the only time where the training was actually useful).

BTW, you should allow us to “edit” our own comments. As soon as I hit send I saw I wrote “your” not “you’re” and I HATE that mistake. I could only stare and grumble, not fix my typo.

  • That had to be electrifying, and you looked so composed. I hope that the rest of your birthday was exhilarating too.

  • Congratulations on crossing another goal off your list. I admire your devotion to focusing on living your life. I don’t even have a list of goals but you have, once again, motivated me. Happy Birthday to you!!!!

  • Happy Birthday, Bro!!!
    Sorry for late…
    You know what ???
Your birth date is same as my love anniversary with my boyfriend…
And this year we’ve been three years together…
Wish you could get your best one …
    I’m waiting for your coming…
    Regards..

  • Your jumping started way back when you were 4yrs old in Pasadena. You would jump from the top of the swing set slide to the ground instead of sliding down. So excited for you and proud of you!
    love and prayers, Dad
